Got to love the G Mac

We caught up with Ex @learnplayachieve elite member Harry who has now signed for @officialbhafc U14’s!

LPA: “When did you start football?”

HL: “I started LPA after school club when I was in Reception, age 5. I joined the elite squad at U9’s.”

LPA: “How often did you train & what sessions was it you did?”

HL: “On Monday’s I did Brighton Talent ID training session, on Wednesday’s LPA Elite training session, Thursday LPA fitness training, Fridays were often LPA matches or an academy session, Saturday ASC Strikers training or a Sussex match and Sunday ASC matches. Alongside school training weekly and school matches.”

LPA: “How do you prepare for training and matches?”

HL: “Before a training session or an evening match I’d usually eat a light snack of chicken and some fruit with lots of water. Before a match, which is in the morning, I’d eat a breakfast of eggs (usually scrambled or an omelette) with fruit and a smoothie. The night before I’d also hydrate lots, drinking large bottles of water. I’d also be sure to get a good nights sleep.”

LPA: “What advice would you give to anyone in the academy?”

HL: “My advice is; work hard, train hard, achieve a good fitness level, practise the basics and definitely enjoy your football. Think about what you’re eating and drinking to keep healthy.”

LPA: “Have you had to sacrifice much to get to where you currently are?”

HL: “I have had to fight to get to this level. I’ve had to work extremely hard, rarely missing training, practising daily in the garden, listening to coaches and taking on board advice. I’ve also cope with knock backs, Club’s saying no and more last season an injury that put me out for a month. I’ve had to sacrifice not staying up late, not attending sleepovers, missing parties and seeing school mates and sometimes eating junk food!”

LPA: “What is it you’ve done to get to where you currently are?”

HL: “I have got to where I am by showing resilience, a very hard working attitude and a big dedication to my sport. I have always taken every opportunity given to me for extra coaching or games and of course fitness sessions!!!”
