We are delighted to introduce LPA West Surrey, covering the Woking and Guildford areas, led by Barry Quinn.
Barry brings a wealth of grassroots football coaching experience, a real passion for developing young players, and shares the values that make Learn Play Achieve so successful. We are excited to have Barry leading our West Surrey programme and look forward to providing high-quality coaching opportunities for children and families throughout the area.

Barry brings a wealth of playing, coaching and leadership experience to Learn Play Achieve West Surrey.
His football journey began in Northern Ireland, where he was part of the youth set-up at Ballymena United F.C. before moving on to university football and later competing in semi-professional football in Ireland. After relocating to England at the age of 25, Barry continued playing at a high level, including spells in Step 5 football with Westfield FC.
As his playing career progressed, Barry developed a passion for coaching and football development. In his early thirties, he took on player-manager roles with local clubs, gaining valuable experience in leadership, player development and team management.
For the past decade, Barry has been heavily involved in grassroots football across Surrey, coaching within the SPL, SYL and JPL. During this time, he has worked with players of all abilities and age groups, while also supporting and mentoring the next generation of coaches.
Barry’s coaching philosophy centres around creating a positive, fun and challenging environment where players can develop both their football ability and confidence. He is committed to continuous learning and regularly explores new coaching methods and ideas to ensure every session is engaging, enjoyable and beneficial for the players.
As the first Learn Play Achieve licensee, Barry is leading the growth of LPA across the Woking and Guildford area, bringing the Academy’s proven coaching philosophy, player pathway and opportunities to even more young footballers and families throughout West Surrey.
